Secret Santa generator

Secret Santa, Kris Kringle or KK, it's the same draw. Put in the names, hit draw, and send everyone their own link. Nobody sees who drew whom. Not even you.

Who's in

Three to fifty people. Add an initial if two share a name.

    Pairs who skip each otherOptional

Couples or housemates. Neither one draws the other.

      How it works

      1. Add everyone. Type in the names, three people or more. Add a budget and a swap date if you like.
      2. Keep couples apart. Pick any two people who shouldn't draw each other, and the draw works around them.
      3. Draw. You get one private link per person. Paste them into the group chat or send them one by one.
      4. Everyone opens their own. They see who they're buying for and that person's wishlist, and they can write their own for whoever drew them.

      Running a work Kris Kringle

Set the budget up front. Put it on the draw and everyone sees it next to their match, so nobody turns up with a $10 candle while somebody else spent $80.

Ask for a wishlist. Everyone can leave a few ideas, sizes or things to skip on their own link, and whoever drew them sees it. It beats guessing.

Remote teammates are in too. A link opens on any phone or laptop, wherever they are. Set a swap date late enough to post a gift.

Two Sarahs on the team? Add an initial. Names have to be different so everyone knows which link is theirs.

You can play as well. The organiser never sees the matches, so whoever sets it up doesn't have to sit it out.

Somebody joins late? Run a fresh draw with everyone in it. It takes a minute. Tell the group the new links replace the old ones.

Planning the Christmas party too? HeadsUp sends the invite, tracks who's coming and keeps the address private until guests verify. The party food calculator works out how much to buy, and the cost splitter settles up afterwards.

      Questions

Is this the same as Kris Kringle?

Yes. Plenty of Australians call it Kris Kringle or just KK, other places say Secret Santa. Same draw, same rules. Pull names out of a hat, or let this do it for you.

Can I see who drew whom?

No. Your organiser page shows whose link has been opened, never the matches. That means you can join the draw too.

What if somebody opens the wrong link?

A link asks "Are you Sam?" before it shows anything, so a wrong tap costs nothing. Once Sam says yes, the link belongs to that phone. If it's opened anywhere else, it says so, and your page shows it as opened. So a peek never goes unnoticed.

      Can somebody draw themselves?

Never. Nobody draws their own name, and nobody draws a person you paired them with. Two people can still end up buying for each other, the same as names out of a hat.

What if it says the draw can't work?

Too many pairs can leave somebody with nobody to draw. A group of three where two are a couple is the classic one. The page says who's stuck, so add another person or remove a pair and draw again.

Somebody got a new phone. Now what?

Reissue their link from your organiser page. They get a fresh one with the same match and wishlist, and the old link stops working.

      I lost my organiser link.

There's no account, so nobody can send it to you again. Copy it somewhere safe when you draw. The draw still works without it. You just can't check on it or reissue links.

Does anyone get a text or an email?

No. We only ask for first names, so we can't contact anybody. You share the links however you like.

How long do you keep the names?

Everything is deleted 60 days after your swap date, or 90 days after the draw if you didn't set one.

      Is it free?

Yes. No sign-up and no catch, for up to 50 people in a draw.
